I’ve said it once. I’ve said it a million times. A good name can make anything pop. Guns & Crayons is a growing streetwear brand based in Phoenix, Arizona (pray for them, ya’ll), that I fell in love with the second I heard their name. Created by childhood friends, Thomas and Keith in 2008, and truly launched at the beginning of this year, Guns & Crayons pulls off a blend of high fashion and streetwear in a way that I haven’t really seen before. I like. You’ll like. Get to …

Stussy is all about the anniversaries this year. About a week ago, I posted a pic of Stussy’s 30th anniversary tee. Now, they’re releasing a tee to celebrate the 20th birthday of London, house record label, Strictly Rhythm.
Strictly Rhythm has been a major influence on the London music scene for the past two decades. It’s started the career of music names such as Erick Morillo and three-time Grammy nominated, Kenny Dope.
The tee will be released on January 22nd.

I’m all about promoting up-and-comers–shoot, I’m tryna come up myself–so this is big. This April will mark the first Emerge Trade Show. It will be held in Miami, and it’s a huge opportunity for upcoming brands to show off their stuff to retailers and boutiques. It’s rare that trade shows focus on independent companies, so it’s definitely something to look forward to.
It’s taking place on April 27 & 28, and presale tickets are available on their site. It’s open to the public, and there is guaranteed to be some decent shopping. More details on …

I want Spring to come and I want it to come now! And not because I currently cannot feel my toes, but because of OBEY’s Spring 2010 women’s collection. Ow! It’s an adorable blend of preppy, yet laidback clothing that has me itching to order some of these goodies as soon as my Spring semester refund check hits my bank account. Must. Show. Restraint.
Check it out. It’s full of cute tops, curve-hugging denim, and just enough floral prints to be considered a Spring collection without choking us all with flowers.
In short, …

H&M definitely seems to be going in a different direction with its Fall 2009 Divided Exclusive Collection. H&M’s Divided clothes are usually colorful and fun, more casual and street-friendly than the merchandise in the main sections of the store.
However, with this Divided Exclusive collection they seem to be going for a more hardcore look for fall, involving a lot of black, studded and zippered pieces, plus a leather leotard and a furry dress with a thick waist belt, thrown in for good measure.
This year’s collection of H&M’s Divided Exclusive clothing …

I have learned to accept a lot over the last few months. I have finally accepted the fact that a pair of leggings can magically be transformed into pants just because a handful of women say that it is so. I have accepted the fact that anything and everything from the 90’s is back in style. I have even accepted the fact that I cannot spend 3 minutes in a store without seeing at least 20 articles of plaid clothing.
Although I have accepted these things, I cannot and will not …

One of Georgetown’s newer additions, Lost Boys, is celebrating one year of providing its customers with quality merchandise. From 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on August 15, the boutique is hosting a “Shake-Down,” in which guests participate in a contest to see who can “shake” the tastiest cocktail.
Their anniversary celebration will be complete with the introduction of a Lost Boys’ trademark cocktail, organic cooking by Westend Bistro’s Joe Palma, and the unveiling of a limited-edition t-shirt designed by the boutique and organic-clothing provider, Loomstate’s Rogan Gregory.
The rest of this month …

All summer, specialty boutique, For the Greater Good has been hosting Monday evening cocktail hours on the rooftop of the very sleek, Washington hotel, the Donovan House. The last event of the summer hasn’t passed yet, so there is still time to soak in some of the stylishness before colder weather drives all events indoors.
RSVP by 3 pm the day of the event, and show up by 6 pm.

A few months ago, a close friend of mine posted a very insightful question in his status. He asked, “What exactly do those ‘sneakerhead’ guys keep in their backpacks?” At the time, I was being driven crazy by another friend of mine who refuses to leave the house unless he is strapped to his own anorexic backpack. Annoyed, I forced him to let me look inside of it, and all he had in there was his wallet, a pack of gum and a single sheet of paper. Seriously.
Every day I …
