Air Jordan‘s new Flight 45s are dope as hell. It’s the first hybrid shoe that I’ve actually been into, with a perfect use of color (the teal and red detailing goes so hard) and a sleek silhouette. The shoes also come with a translucent Jumpman tag fastened in one of the eyelets, a teal Jumpman along the heel and a Jordan strap along the upper.
Not too much, not too little. These will be classic.

This is first time I’ve wanted a pair of Vans since the Pack came out with their ode to the canvas shoe about four years ago. (Click the link to reminisce.) The brand worked on an unexpected collaboration with Crayola. Yes, the makers of your favorite childhood crayons!!!
Take a minute and absorb that adorableness.
They literally look like a little kid scribbled all over the canvas upper of the shoe, and they come in a few vibrant colorways, including purple, red and blue.
I need these in my life.

Giuliano Fujiwara is a more than 20-year-old Japanese label that is based out of Milan. I’ve been seeing their Spring/Summer 2010 sneakers posted all over the blogs for the past few days, and I’m intrigued by the shoe pictured on the thumb.
While I actually do like them (a fact that perplexes me), they remind me of Michael J. Fox’s futuristic (sorry, I had to) shoes from Back to the Future.
C’mon, you can’t tell me that these….
don’t remind you of these…
Exactly.
But I digress…check out the rest of the Spring/Summer 2010 sneaker …

Remember those copper, Nike Air Foamposite One’s that DC-native, Wale, posted twitpics of a while back? According to Sneaker Files, there’s now an actual release date.
They’re set to come out on February 13th, 2010. Which means that not only will men all over DC rejoice (ya’ll love foamposite like I love pistachios—with a lust that cannot be explained), but will undoubtedly result in a few domestic disputes between DC sneakerheads and their girlfriends.
Ex. “What you mean, Rashad? You ain’t buy me nothin for Valentine’s Day because you spent all your …

In light of the fact that almost 45% of my posts circle around sneakers, one would think that I’d own more than three pairs. Strangely enough, this isn’t the case. I always seem to find a reason to leave them on the rack-too clunky, too girly, too manly-any excuse I can find to scamper away to go look for some boots or flats.
However, Philadelphia’s own UBIQ has teamed up with Japenese brand FAWKES on a version of their Grace MD, and I’m actually interested. They come in two different colorways, …

Yesterday, I hit up the latest DC Dunk Exchange at Bravo! Bravo!on Connecticut Avenue. I’ll paint a picture: swarms of sneakerheads buying, trading and selling rare sneakers, tables and tables of streetwear brands, old school rap, DJ Jack Da Ripper and a Nike SB area rug raffle.
It was my first time going to an event of that nature, and it was insanity. But in a good way. People were walking out of there with thousands of dollars worth of shoes, and the discounts were something serious. Like, $230 for a pair of $400 …

Bored with the road more traveled? Tired of anything retro being automatically considered cool?
If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, don’t worry. You are not alone. The creators of flaek footwear shared your same frustrations.
But instead of just groaning about it and begrudingly shelling out $135 for a “new” pair of sneakers that came out in ’94, they did something so logical, that it’s insane. Oliver and Sven, two German college students, transformed their thesis into a sneaker brand of their own.
They even started a blog in which they gave …

Prepare to drool.
Nike is opening up another location of the House of Hoops, the sneaker junkie’s dream come true, in Hyattsville, MD. The first of these concept stores opened in New York back in 2007, with other locations in Chicago and LA opening after. The stores are dedicated to solely basketball, with Nikes, Jordans, exclusive shoes, Converse, clothing, and more.
Other new locations will be in Cherry Hill, NJ, Wayne, NJ, Houston, TX, Mesquite, TX and Las Vegas, NV.
The picture on the thumb is of the two-year-old NY location. The new …

A few months ago, a close friend of mine posted a very insightful question in his status. He asked, “What exactly do those ‘sneakerhead’ guys keep in their backpacks?” At the time, I was being driven crazy by another friend of mine who refuses to leave the house unless he is strapped to his own anorexic backpack. Annoyed, I forced him to let me look inside of it, and all he had in there was his wallet, a pack of gum and a single sheet of paper. Seriously.
Every day I …
