Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Drake’s recent photo shoot with set Complex Magazine. He’s the cover story for their February/March 2010 edition, and I’m more than a little excited for him.

I have been a fan of Drake since the pre-wheelchair-Jimmy-Degrassi days (back when Degrassi was good without all the new faces and recycled story lines). Seeing someone you’ve been following for the past eight years grow is always good.

While in search of the Real World DC house (don’t ask…boredom is the work of the devil) I got a chance to flex my picture-taking muscles. I’m looking more like a pre-spinach Popeye than a true photographer right now, but baby steps are steps all the same.

Get it, Ciara! Ever since her Fantasy Ride was released in May 2009 Ciara’s been popping up all over the blogs. Mostly for shopping and walking through random, paparazzi-ridden spots looking suspiciously fly. However, her recent photo shoot with French fashion magazine, L’Officiel, proves that she can do way more than swipe her credit cards.
She looks amazing! I’m tempted to run out to get my first copy of the magazine just for these shots.

Due to my mother’s love for premium cable and many days stuck in this house without a car before I return to DC (where everything is Metro-accessible), music videos have been a good escape.
Just thought I’d share one of my faves. It’s “Take On Me” by Norwegian pop band, A-ha. It was released in 1985 and is still one of the most creative videos I’ve ever seen. Just something I feel that everyone should know in order to be a complete person.

I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile now. One of my most frequent—and most vocal—readers, Mal, hasn’t seen it yet and I’m dying to hear what ya’ll think.
Omarion has dedicated this video to the late Michael Jackson, and I hate to say that I’m not feeling it all that much…seems like I’ve seen it before, and didn’t really like it the first time.
Now, “I Get It In” on the other hand…

I’m not sure about this video…
I mean, the Windows Movie Maker-approved effects are most definitely meant to be funny, and they’re definitely respecting the fact that the country is suffering financially and ish…but, this will have to grow on me.

This new–well, new to me–Levi commercial caught my eye today. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen for the entire 1:02 minutes…
 
 

One of the joys of living in DC (besides playing Spot-the-Black-Squirrel) is enjoying the randomness that can be witnessed on these streets.
After about a year and a half of living here I’ve seen two grown men fight in the train station, been played at Golden Corral by the Worst Waitress in the World (if you go to the Golden Corral in Largo, MD, make sure you don’t get Kim), witnessed an historic Presidential Election, run from a dog the size of a horse, tried mumbo sauce for the very, first …
