Origami Purse by Itay Laniado

I’ve been stumbling upon random coolness all week. This Origami purse by Isreali designer, Itay Laniado reminds me of the paper pouches we used to make back in elementary school. Except, while Laniado’s clutch looks and feels like paper, it’s actually made of Tyvek®, a much stronger, lightweight material. Tyvek® has been used on construction sites and to make car covers. It can also be used to make envelopes, medical packaging and protective gear.
The clutch has a little yellow tab on the front, and it’s zipper is sewn on the …

Architectural Jewelry – Philippe Tournaire

After seeing my Ring Arthur post yesterday, one of my boos (@FelaKemdi) pointed out these architecturally inspired rings made by French accessories master, Philippe Tournaire. They’re actual mini-models of some of the world’s largest cities, including Moscow, New York, and Paris. There’s even a model of a Chinese Pagoda.
The rings are made of a variety of materials including gold, amethyst and brass.
Adding this to my wishlist. I’m actually afraid to use Google’s currency converter to figure out what the prices listed are in American dollars. It might just break my …

Nike Trainer Zoom Huarache Rivalry Pack

It’s times like these that make me wish that I went to a school who’s basketball team mattered at the NCAA level. Nike is set to release their Nike Trainer Zoom Huarache Rivalry Pack at 21 Mercer Store in NYC this Friday.
The pack comes in three colorways: black and orange, blue and black and purple and white. Each colorway is supposed to represent a different NCAA basketball team.
I only follow NBA basketball, and even then, I only watch the finals, so I can’t say which teams these are meant to …

Nike Sportswear Winter 2010 Preview

Check out this preview of Nike Sportswear’s upcoming Winter 2010 releases. There are a lot of familiar siholouettes being revamped in new colorways, as well as some interesting risks being taken on Nike’s part. As usual, there’s something for just about every sneaker addict. From a pair of fleece-lined, blue and black high tops to some cushy, red slip-ons, there’s a little bit of everything here.
Kind of looking forward to winter…

Adidas Originals Calculator Watch

It’s ironic that I’m posting pictures of a new calculator watch on the exact same day that I post something about “Unintentional Hipsters”, but I digress. Adidas Originals just released this cute, new calculator watch. It’s got a black band, but the face of the clock is neon pink, while the calculator itself is bright yellow. It’s very retro and nerd chic, but I still love it.
Unfortunately, my wallet won’t. According to the folks over at Highsnobette, it’ll set you back £50, which is about $70…yikes!

Still, it is really cute…ok..I …

Aldo Lanzini’s Crochet Masks

Italian artist, Aldo Lanzini recently had his crochet masks featured in Missoni’s Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show, with around 30 ushers wearing the brightly-colored masks while escorting onlookers to their seats.
I spotted these pictures over at Cool Hunting, and couldn’t stop looking at them. Judging by these masks alone, it is clear that Lanzini is immensely talented, but after looking at his site, that’s just the beginning.
Be sure to check out his site and enjoy the pictures below.

Female streetwear heavy-hitter, Vashtie Kola’s name is all over the streetwear blogs this morning. She’s already worked with major names in the streetwear world, including Pharrell and Lupe, and now she has made history as the first woman to design a pair of Jordans. Adding a woman’s touch to this pair of Air Jordan II Retros, the head of the Violette brand utilized a softer, lavender version of her signature purple.

I first fell in love with Miss Wax Jewelry a little over a year ago, so I was more than excited when I spotted their Fall 2010 lookbook on a few other blogs today. Kid Cudi Covers Complex

Kid Cudi is on the latest cover of Complex and the interview that he gave the magazine has people talking. I mean, he went the hell in. The rapper spoke candidly on his past drug use, lack of respect for certain rappers, and getting kicked off Lady Gaga‘s Monster’s Ball tour. The highlights floating around the blogs are enough to make me want to read the rest of the interview…

On his career:
“I’m incomparable to anybody. I don’t care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I’m unf*ckwittable; …
