Ballerinas Take Over New York (PHOTOS)

The Ballerina Project is one of the most creative and beautiful art projects I’ve seen in awhile. It takes ballerinas out of the mirror-lined studio and places them in the dirty, gritty graffiti-covered streets of New York City. Posing in iconic parts of NYC – the subway, the East River, the Williamsburg Bridge – the dancers stand en pointe and blend two vastly contrasting cultures: the cultured and refined world of ballet and the grimy and fabulous city streets.

Make sure to check out the Ballerina Project’s blog. There are plenty more amazing shots.
